Aeronautical Chart:  The Aeronautics Bureau publishes a bi-annual Alabama Aeronautical Chart.  It is provided free of charge and is designed for flight planning purposes to assist pilots using Alabama’s system of airports.  You can pick one up at your local airport or by contacting ALDOT – Aeronautics Bureau.  You may also send your requesting electronically by contacting Ms. Martha Hutsler.

Automated Weather Observation Systems: The Aeronautics Bureau solicited bids for AWOS equipment to be included on the state bid list to take advantage of supplier cost savings.  Now, local governments that operate airports can purchase AWOS equipment off the state bid list, thereby eliminating the expense of preparing specifications and bid documents for individual sites.  The contract price includes equipment only.  Installation and maintenance of AWOS equipment is the responsibility of the local governments.
