Online Public Involvement: Bridge Replacement on AL-243 over Cedar Creek

In-Person and Online Public Involvement: Bridge Replacement on AL-243 over Cedar Creek

Project Overview

Location: Russellville (Franklin County)

The proposed project is located on AL-243, approximately 5 miles southeast of the city of Russellville in Franklin County, Alabama. The existing bridge to be replaced travels over Cedar Creek, a tributary of the Tennessee River. The proposed project, approximately 1.3 miles in length, will replace the existing bridge in the same location by closing the roadway. A detour will be utilized for project construction. A map of the proposed detour can be found in the links below. Rights-of-way will be required for the proposed project. The purpose of this project is to replace the existing bridge on AL-243 with a more modern facility capable of handling existing and future traffic demands in a more efficient manner.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
