Online Public Involvement: AL-269 Bridge Replacement over the Locust Fork

Project Overview

Location: Alliance/Praco (Jefferson County)

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is proposing to replace the existing bridge on AL-269 over the Locust Fork of the Warrior River, approximately 20 miles from Birmingham, in Jefferson County, Alabama. The bridge, which is located between the towns of Alliance and Praco, lacks shoulders and is in poor condition. ALDOT proposes to replace the bridge to the east of the existing bridge with a new bridge that will have 2- 12 foot lanes, as well as 10 foot shoulders. The new bridge would be built approximately ten feet higher than the existing bridge and will span Locust Fork of the Warrior River at this crossing. There will not be a detour required for this project; the road and bridge will remain open during construction. Right of way will be required.

The purpose of this online public involvement is to inform the public of the purpose project and the design. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route. Thank you for visiting our website.
ALDOT is conducting online public involvement for the proposed project. All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Friday, April 26, 2024.
