Project Overview

Location: La Fayette (Chambers County)

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is proposing to improve traffic flow and decrease congestion along AL-1 (US-431) near La Fayette, Alabama. The project will involve safety countermeasures consisting of resurfacing, traffic striping, guardrail, and guardrail end anchors along AL-1 from south of AL-50 to south of CR-93. The project will additionally include a road diet; the existing facility will be reconfigured from four (4) travel lanes to two (2) travel lanes and a two-way center turn lane, as designated.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
