Project Overview

Location: Decatur (Limestone County)

The proposed project is located on US-31 in the City of Tanner, Limestone County, Alabama. The project will replace the existing northbound and southbound bridges over the Norfolk Southern Railway. The new bridges will be constructed with a higher profile in order to accommodate any future railway expansion. The roadway will remain open to traffic during construction. No additional right-of-way will be required to implement this project.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.

ALDOT is conducting online public involvement for the proposed project. All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Friday February 24, 2023.
