Project Overview

Location: Jacksonville (Calhoun County)

The proposed projects are located near the Campus of Jacksonville State University, in Jacksonville, Alabama. Two projects are being proposed at this time. One project, located on AL-21 will include pedestrian improvements from South of Jacksonville Public Square to 11th Street Northwest. The other project, located on AL-204, will include pedestrian improvements as well as the addition of a center turn lane from Nisbet Lake Road to the Intersection of AL-21 (Pelham Road North). The improvements at Jacksonville Square will also include the construction of a raised separation between traffic on AL-21 and the parking spaces in front of the businesses lining the square. On AL-204, a raised landscaped median will be added to guide pedestrians to the designated crosswalk located at Skelton Street. The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route. Thank you for visiting our website.
