In-Person and Online Public Involvement: Improvements at the intersection of AL-6 (US-82) and CR-29 (Gin Shop Hill Road)

In-Person and Online Public Involvement: Intersection Improvements on US-82 and CR-29

Project Overview

Location: Prattville (Autauga County)

The proposed project is located along AL-6 (US-82) beginning just west of Malone Court and ending near Carter Road in Prattville, Alabama. The intent of this project is to improve safety at the US-82 and CR-29 (Gin Shop Hill Road) intersection along with improving safety and traffic flow within the project limits. Improvements include the addition of traffic signals at the intersection of US-82 and Carter Road and on US-82 just east of Gin Shop Hill Road. The existing open median at the US-82 and Gin Shop Hill Road intersection will be closed. No traffic will be permitted to cross at this intersection. Traffic on US-82 turning onto Gin Shop Hill Road will utilize the traffic signals and perform U-turn movements. Traffic on Gin Shop Hill Road will also utilize the traffic signals and U-turn movements to enter the opposing US-82 travel way. Right of way will not be required for this project.
The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
