Project Overview

Location: Enterprise (Coffee County)

ALDOT is proposing to improve the intersection of AL-27 and Shellfield Road in the City of Enterprise. AL-27 currently connects the City of Enterprise with Ozark. Shellfield Road connects Fort Novosel with the City of Enterprise. Enterprise has experienced substantial growth resulting in increased traffic flow at this intersection. This location has been selected for Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program (ATRP-II) Funds.

Public involvement for the proposed project was initially conducted in June 2022. At that time, the project design included the installation of a roundabout. Since then, additional traffic studies have been conducted and the design has been updated. ALDOT is now proposing the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of AL-27 and Shellfield Road. The proposed improvement will benefit the traveling public by providing safer intersection interactions.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
