Project Overview

Thank you for visiting our website.

Location: Wadley (Randolph County)

In Person Meeting: November 18, 2021

The Alabama Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration are studying a proposal to replace two bridges on AL-22 in the City of Wadley in Randolph County. The first bridge is over the Tallapoosa River and the second is over the CSX Railroad. The project begins approximately 2000 feet west of the existing AL-22 bridge over the CSX railroad and ends 3500 feet east of the existing AL-22 bridge over the Tallapoosa River. The replacement bridges would be built on new location north of the existing location of the two bridges. The total length of the project is approximately 1.2 miles. Additional right-of-way will be necessary to implement this project.

Please see the project information map and video below.
ALDOT is conducting online public involvement for the proposed project. All comments regarding this project must be received on or before December 16, 2021.
