In-Person and Online Public Involvement: Main Avenue Improvements

Online Public Involvement: Main Avenue Improvements

Project Overview

Location: Northport (Tuscaloosa County)

The proposed project involves resurfacing, curb and gutter, traffic control markings, 6-ft sidewalk, ADA curb ramps, brick pavers, lighting, drainage improvements, and additional streetscape improvements on Main Avenue from 5th Street to AL-6 (US-82). A roundabout will be installed at 10th Street to alleviate congestion at this location. A small park area will be added within the right-of-way between 10th Street and Park Street to provide a social gathering space with outdoor seating. The project aims to improve the city’s infrastructure, while providing pedestrian connectivity to the downtown district.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
