Highway Beautification Act

The Permits & Operations Section is responsible for providing permits for Outdoor Advertising Signs and licenses for junkyards along a route designated as a National Highway System (NHS), Interstate or primary route per the Highway Beautification Act.
ALL PERMITS ORIGINATE IN THE DISTRICT OFFICES


Outdoor Advertising Signs (Billboards)
Per the Code of Alabama, permits are required from ALDOT for the installation of Outdoor Advertising Signs.

Junkyard Control
Per the Code of Alabama, all junkyards are required to have a license issued annually by ALDOT.
