ALDOT in cooperation with the City of Opelika is proposing to improve access management on Columbus Parkway at the I-85 interchange (Exit 62). The project length is approximately 1 mile along US-280 between Fox Run Parkway to North Uniroyal Road and involves driveway closures as well as the addition of turning lanes.
The major purpose of this project is to provide access management features, which will accommodate not only current traffic, but also, future traffic demands more efficiently and safely.

ALDOT is conducting online public involvement for the proposed project. All comments regarding this project must be received on or before October 22, 2021.

This will be an Open-House meeting without any formal presentations. Project information, including maps and comment forms, will be available for review. Representatives from the Alabama Department of Transportation will be available to answer questions.
