In Person and Online Public Involvement: Bridge Replacement over Five Runs Creek

Project Overview

Location: Andalusia (Covington County)

The proposed project is located on AL-55, approximately 4.4 miles south of the City of Andalusia in Covington County. The project will replace the existing bridge on AL-55 over Five Runs Creek. The new bridge will be built west of the existing bridge and AL-55 will be realigned. AL-55 will remain open during construction. Once the new bridge is in place, the old bridge will be demolished. Right-of-way will be acquired to accommodate the realignment of AL-55.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.

ALDOT is conducting online public involvement for the proposed project. All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Friday, February 17, 2023.
