The proposed project is located on AL-81 in Notasulga, Macon County. The project proposes to replace the existing bridge over the CSXT Railroad with a modern bridge that meets current design standards. The bridge will be replaced on new alignment southwest of the existing bridge. To accommodate the new bridge, a portion of CR-52 (Union Camp Road) will be realigned and its intersection with AL-81 will be modified. Additional right-of-way will be needed to implement the project. No detour will be needed as the existing bridge will remain open during construction. The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Friday, November 7, 2025.
