Online and In-person Public Involvement: Intersection Improvements on AL-171

Project Overview

Location: Fayette (Fayette County)

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is proposing improvements on AL-171 in the City Fayette, Fayette County, Alabama. The proposed project will install a roundabout a the intersection of AL-171, Temple Avenue South, 11th Street SW, and a small city street that currently connects into the intersection at the northbound stop bar. The placement of a roundabout would allow all four legs of the intersection to function as one unit to reduce the amount of conflict points. Additional right-of-way will be required to implement the project.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.

All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Thursday, September 10, 2026.
