Project Overview

Location: Birmingport (Jefferson County)

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is proposing to replace the bridge located on AL-269 (Birmingport Road) over the Locust Fork of the Warrior River, in Jefferson County, Alabama. The new bridge would be located adjacent to the existing structure and span the entirety of the crossing of the Locust Fork. The new bridge will consist of two (2) lanes, one (1) in each direction, that is 12 feet in width, as well as 10 foot shoulders on each side. This portion of AL-269 will be closed during construction. A detour map is included in the Project Map section of this webpage. Aquisition of right of way will be required.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.
