Project Overview

Location: Opelika (Lee County)

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is proposing to improve traffic flow and address safety concerns along AL-38 (US-280) in the City of Opelika, Lee County. The proposed project will modify access and reduce conflict points at the intersection of US-280 and Dunlop Drive. Improvements include the addition of a right-turn lane, driveway modifications, and installation of a reduced-conflict intersection (RCI). The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.

All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Friday, April 10, 2026.
