Online and In-person Public Involvement: AL-7 (US-11) Improvements

Project Overview

Location: Tuscaloosa (Tuscaloosa County)

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is proposing turn lanes, traffic signals modifications, and access modifications along AL-7 (US-11/Skyland Blvd) from AL-6 (US-82/McFarland Blvd) to east of Andrews Street and along AL-6 (US-82/McFarland Blvd) from I-20/I-59 to the intersection of AL-7 (US-11/Skyland Blvd). These roadway and traffic signal modifications will help reduce traffic congestion through the corridor as well as improve traffic operations at intersections.

Currently, more than 20,000 vehicles per day use the most heavily traveled portion of the corridor. This project is expected to enhance efficiency along the corridor.

The purpose of this public involvement meeting is to inform the public of the design features for the project. ALDOT is interested in obtaining input from the people who use this route.

All comments regarding this project must be submitted on or before Friday, July 31, 2026.
